development plan conforms to the local municipality laws. Several towns and cities have their own master plans. The local laws are already in place which allow commercial development only in a certain way.

So, our plans in different cities will obviously be different. Also, we need to ensure railway colonies nearby. We will soon engage consultants to prepare feasibility which have been entrusted to the RLDA included five in Kolkata, two in Visakhapatnam and one each in Delhi, Gwalior, Kanpur, Gaya and Bangalore.

The average size of these sites is five acres. Significantly, the RLDA already conducted three years back. For some of those sites, the feasibility reports are already with us.

But these are a little dated. However, we will make some recommendations based on those reports too, the relating to commer-cial development of railway vacant land. The Authority which came into effect from November 1, 2006, will identify new sites for development.
