Privately owned and headquartered in the Pacific Northwest, Blood Bank Computer Systems, Inc., (BBCS) has been one of the blood banking industry s complete software solutions for information and risk management since 1987. We are seeking an addition to our R D Department.
The Senior Software Designer will report to the Director of Software Development and be responsible for gathering and analyzing software development requirements, designing and preparing detailed specifications, based on written procedures, from which programs will be written or enhanced to meet specified needs. Design and analysis is carried out utilizing relational database and object oriented design concepts. The Senior Software Designer must recognize design trends or deviations within an integrated system.
This position may also be responsible for providing support and assistance to other staff members in the R D Department. Additional responsibilities include performing product deviation analysis, reviewing enhancement requests and troubleshooting application problems. Perform other duties as determined by the Director of Software Development.
Educational/Experience Requirements: Requires a technical degree in computer science, engineering, software design, or related field plus a minimum of three to four years experience with software research and design projects. A thorough knowledge of the Java programming language is required. Knowledge of the RPG programming language is beneficial.
