said Tuesday it won a Navy contract worth $10.6 million. Under the contract, the company -- a subsidiary of Palo Alto-based (NASDAQ: CPII) -- will make traveling wave tubes to be used in antimissile systems for naval ships.

The tubes will be part of decoys fired from ships under attack by missiles. The rocket-propelled decoys are intended to confuse enemy missiles and steer them away from their targets. CPI has been building the tubes under previous contracts with the Navy.

So far, 700 of the decoys have been built. This contract covers work that should be finished by 2011.
