This will eliminate and/or greatly reduce those sites' business that aren't the traditional brick and mortar stores but rather a guy sitting at his computer who reroutes goods coming from the manufacturer/distributor to the customer, thereby saving shipping $$$ and the savings are mostly passed on to the customer. This is somewhat of a mixed bag: the consumer will ultimately pay a bit more (especially if they want a big name brand) but this will enable your local dealer to stay in business as the Internet retailers won't be able to undercut him as you'll have to pay more for shipping which will offset the savings in sales tax. Come to think of it, this will be a boon for government too (more local sales tax coming in).

Of course, that means less $$$ for UPS, FedEx, etc. as less goods will be bought on the Internet. Posted by on June 29, 2007 at 1:38 p.

m. I use to work for a linen company, they would pay 50cents for a pair of pillow cases yet sell them for 9.99 a pair.

They would just sit in the bins waiting to be sold. I started selling them at 50% off about every 2-3weeks for like 4 days.Funny thing happened for the first time in the history of the company of all the stores they had my profit margin went up 5.

4%.We as consumers pay exorberant amounts of money for things that these companies pay literally pennies for, this pisses me off especially when I do search for the best price. This is definitly going to hurt the consumer.

So now I guess we just decide what store we like best to shop in because as far as price they all will be the same. on June 29, 2007 at 11:31 a.m.
